It’s my first time, do I need to make a reservation?
Do I need to pre-register?
You can download, print out and fill the waiver out. It’ll save you time at the registration counter. Less registration time = more climbing time. More climbing time = happier human beings.
What do I need to bring?
If you don’t already have your own gear, we have gears available for rent. All you need to bring is comfortable clothes, socks and your sense of adventure. Find out more about rental gear pricing and bundles here.

Project Rock @ IKEA Batu Kawan – Climbing shoes and harness are needed
Where are you located?
We are now operating in Tanjung Bungah. Project Rock @ IKEA Batu Kawan is coming real soon. Check out the locations here.
Do I need lots of upper body strength to climb?
You do not need to be the Rock to start enjoying climbing. Our facility caters to the beginner and recreational climber as well as more experienced climbers. With that said, as with all sports, the more you do it, the fitter and stronger will you get.
Will there be anyone to guide me?
Can I climb? Can my kids climb? Can my grandpa climb?
Chances are, yes, you can.
- Pregnant Women
- People with osteoporosis
If you are unsure, consult your doctor
How much does it cost?
Do I HAAAAVE to wear rock climbing shoes? Can’t I just wear sport shoes? My ancestors climbed barefoot anyways.
Short answer: Yes. It’s for your own good
Not so short answer: These technical rock climbing shoes will help you tremendously in stepping on little climbing holds. Also, they’re only used on climbing walls and are therefore much cleaner. Plus, shoes don’t sweat. Feet do. Not putting your sweaty feet where your hands go is generally a pretty good idea in life. So yes, you’ll have to wear rock climbing shoes.
How long can I stay?
You can stay as long as you like on the day (check out our opening hours here) of your day pass purchase. You may also leave to grab a bite and return later in the day when the blood has made its way back to your forearms.
Insider secret: if you get an annual pass you can basically stay forever… For a year.
How many people can you fit?
Project Rock @ Tanjung Bungah – We can fit up to 25 people, before it gets too crowded.
Project Rock @ IKEA Batu Kawan (coming soon) – We are not quite sure how many people but 150 people will be our guess
Is it safe to climb?
Short answer: Yes.
Not so short answer: Climbing will always include some element of risk, but our job is to manage that risk. Statistically there are fewer injuries incurred in climbing gyms than in bowling alleys. In essence you’ll be safer when you arrive here than you are on your way over.
